Greetings From Aromatherapy Practitioners’ of Association of Malaysia-APAM!
I am humbled, honoured and privileged to assume the role of President and founder of Aromatherapy Practitioners’ Association of Malaysia-APAM since 2019. I am deeply grateful to the Federation of Complementary and Natural Medical Associations of Malaysia’s (FCNMAM www.fcnmam.org) Chairman Prof. Dato’ Seri Steve Yap, for his leadership and outstanding contribution to APAM by providing crucial advice and guiding APAM.
APAM has an important mission which is to develop Malaysia’s Aromatherapy industry to be more academic and professional so that Aromatherapy can play a role in keeping people healthy.
The origins of essential oils date back at least a thousand years, and have been used for medicinal purposes for at least as long. From the extraction of plants to evidence-based medicinal usage, Aromatherapy has undergone many clinical trials and experiments till today.
According to Grand View Research, Aromatherapy’s market size analysis report by product (consumables, equipment), by mode of delivery (topical, aerial, direct inhalation), by application, by distribution channel, by end use, and segment forecasts2019-2020; showed that the global aromatherapy market size was valued at USD1.3billion (approximately RM 5.56 billion) in 2018 and is projected to witness 10.4% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) over the forecast period. Rising awareness of essential oils is anticipated to drive rapid growth due to its therapeutic efficacy in treating health issues.
Aromatherapy is a complementary medicine used to treat many health disorders. These medical applications include skin-related problems, pain management, insomnia, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders, digestion problems, cold and cough, immune system disfunctions, anxiety, and wound healing.
We are pleased to take the lead in the usage of this precious and natural compound which has been used since ancient times but now with more advancements in extraction, laboratory reports, channels of deliveries with academic studies and research from all over the world.
Last but not least, I wish to invite you to be a part of APAM in being a forerunner to develop the Aromatherapy industry in Malaysia.

自2019年起成为马来西亚芳疗从业者协会（APAM）的主席和创办人，我深感荣幸。这是一个任重道远的任务。我非常感谢马来西亚自然医学协会联合总会（Federation of Complementary and Natural Medical Associations of Malaysia，FCNMAM www.fcnmam.org）主席Dato’ Seri Steve Yap教授的领导。他给予APAM建议和指导，对APAM的发展作出了杰出的贡献。
APAM有一个重要的使命，就是把马来西亚的芳疗行业发展成为一门学术性和专业性的领域，让芳疗成为大众维护健康的方法。
精油的始源可追溯到至少一千年以前，也同时被运用于医学的用途。至今，从植物的提取到运用于循证医学方面，芳疗的效果已经获得许多临床和实验的证实。
Grand View Research进行了芳疗市场规模的调查，并以产品（消费品、器材）、使用方式（外用、空气传播、直接嗅吸）、应用目的、销售渠道、终端使用作为2019 – 2020年细分市场的预测。调查显示，芳疗2018年的全球市场规模估计为美金13亿（大概马币55.6亿）。预计同期的复合年增长率为10.4%。由于精油运用在健康调理的效果显著，人们使用精油的意识将随之提高，并驱动快速的市场增长。
芳疗是一门用于调理健康问题的辅助医学领域。其应用包括与皮肤有关的问题、疼痛管理、失眠、心血管和呼吸问题、消化问题、感冒和咳嗽、免疫系统失调、焦虑和伤口愈合。
我们很乐意牵头运用这些宝贵的天然化合物。它们不仅具有悠久历史，而且也获得来自全球的先进提取技术、实验报告、具有学术性研究之使用方式的支持。
